Canterbury Filipino Society (CaFilSo)

CaFilSo was established in September 2016 with the aim of promoting harmonious relationships and building a better foundation for the Filipino Community in Canterbury.

Our goal is to preserve our Filipino culture, heritage, and traditions for the younger generation and to share this all with the parishioners of St. Thomas of Canterbury and the public community. We do this through our Filipino Mass celebrated every 1st Sunday of the month at 3 pm with Filipino cuisine and dishes shared by all in our Parish Hall after the Mass.

Other special celebrations throughout the year include:

  • Flores de Mayo (Feast in honour of our Blessed Mother Mary) in May.
  • Pista ng Nayon (Festival Community) in July.
  • Rosary Prayer for the month of May and October.
  • Prayer for the Souls in November.
  • A Christmas event.

We encourage everyone to come and celebrate with us.
