My Thoughts on 17/04/2020

I think it is true to say that those who go on pilgrimage to the Holy Land are struck by the beauty and stillness of the Sea of Galilee.

When Jesus, after the resurrection, appeared to the women, he asked them to tell the disciples to go to Galilee where he would meet them. Galilee was where he spent his time teaching and healing. So today we read how some of the disciples decided to go back to doing what was familiar to them, fishing. They fished all night and caught nothing. Then the voice from the shore told them “Cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some”. When they did this, they caught 153 fish. All night they toiled in vain but once they took direction from Jesus, they had an overwhelming catch.

If we as a Church going to continue the mission of the Jesus, we need to listen to him. He is the one who shows us through prayer and reflection on Scripture where we should put our efforts.
