My Thoughts on 19/12/2020

In a darkened church before sunrise on this last Saturday before Christmas I light a candle before the image of St Joseph. As the news of the day fills my mind with anxiety and some fear I recall the words of the angel who appeared to Joseph in a dream. Do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. This was for him an awesome responsibility to become the guardian and protector of Mary and Jesus the Saviour of the world.

Dear Joseph, as you protected and guided Mary and Jesus, guide us and show us the way in these dark and fearful days. Man of dreams, lead us through these days of pandemic and uncertainty. As you were open to the messenger of the Lord, help me to be open to what God is asking of me. Like you, may I be a silent and calming presence to those close to me and dear to me
